Savannah Kay Scott was born and raised in Angleton, Texas where she grew up on a Brangus and commercial cow/calf operation with my mom, Lari, and my sister, Callie. She began showing Brangus cattle at age 7 and has been heavily involved in the cattle industry ever since raising and exhibiting many champions during her show career. She attended Brazosport Christian School credits her school and family for teaching her the importance of walking with God and being a person of strong moral character. Savannah was a cheerleader for 6 years and she credits cheer with teaching her leadership skills, teamwork, and the importance of hard work and dedication. While cheerleading and cattle showing are very different, she believes these activities have shaped her into the person she is today. Savannah is thankful to be able to do what she loves and has a passion for. After graduating, Savannah began working full time at the family business - Triple Crown Ranch. She assists with the daily activities that come with owning a ranch from calving out cows to working in the show barn rinsing and brushing calves. Two years ago, Savannah attended an A.I. and palpation course at Bovine Elite in College Station where she became certified in A.I. and palpation. She has no doubt that this new skill will prove very useful to their operation and is glad to bring something so valuable to the business. Last year Savannah served as the International Brangus Queen. Savannah says, “It was such a wonderful experience that I decided to dive fully into the board as this year’s IJBBA president. I hope to continue working at the ranch, as well as remaining a part of the Brangus breed for many generations to come, and raise quality Brangus cattle that will impact and improve the Brangus breed.”
