April Villarreal is an 18-year-old freshman at Texas A&M University. As she enters this new chapter in my life, April feels very honored to be able to represent the great state of Texas in her first year on the IJBBA Board of Directors! In high school, she was active in Katy FFA, Waller 4H, and the Katy Cowgirls. April also serves as the manager of her parent’s ranch, Villa Ranch. All of this experience has structured her to be a great leader, a responsible person, and a very hard worker. She is excited to be given the opportunity to be able to apply her skills to something that she loves. When she first became involved in the Brangus Breed, she fell in love with the community and how everyone was so devoted to not only their animals, but the whole association itself. April believes that IJBBA gives kids a great and fun way to learn to work hard for what they want, be a responsible and active member in the association. It also brings families together as they share time with each other and create a bond that is healthy and loving. It makes adults want to be more involved as they see their children do what they did when they were younger. Knowing, that this will continue for generations, makes her proud to be a part of something so much bigger than herself. April is excited to see what the Brangus breed and the cattle industry will bring to her future and what she will have to offer as well.
